The Sacrament of Reconciliation is a gift of God’s mercy, allowing us to receive His forgiveness for sins committed after Baptism. Through the ministry of the priest, who acts in the person of Christ, we confess our sins, express contrition, and receive absolution (CCC 1442). This sacrament not only reconciles us with God but also restores our unity with the Church, which is wounded by sin. “Those who approach the sacrament of Penance obtain pardon from God’s mercy for the offense committed against Him and are, at the same time, reconciled with the Church” (CCC 1422). The grace received in this sacrament strengthens us to resist temptation and grow in virtue. Regular confession fosters spiritual renewal and deepens our relationship with God.
